Claude Enterprise Gets Smart Reports, Employee Surveys and Shared Budgets

Anthropic has added three new admin features to Claude Enterprise: smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets. All three became generally available on October 28. Together, they’re built to answer the question every company asks after rolling out AI to staff: is it actually worth the money?

1. Smart reports: see what teams use Claude for

Admins pick a team, a date range and the Claude products to include. Claude then reviews a sample of that team’s conversations and groups the work into workstreams. For each workstream, the report shows:

  • How much was spent
  • What was produced
  • Where people got stuck, for example a missing connector or a tool call that failed

Each report ends with a single list of recommendations, such as turning a repeated workflow into a reusable skill or adding rules to a code repository. Admins can ask their own questions about usage and cost, save them as templates, and share findings as an artifact. If a spending limit is slowing someone down, an admin with billing rights can raise it from inside the report.

Owners can also let team leads who aren’t admins run reports for their own groups. Anthropic is clear that these reports are not meant for judging individual performance or making employment decisions.

2. In-app surveys: ask employees directly

Numbers only tell part of the story, so admins can now survey people inside Claude. A short card appears after a reply in whatever Claude tool the person is using. The default questions focus on value, such as:

  • What was the most valuable work you did with Claude recently?
  • How did Claude change the time that work took?
  • Which use should a teammate copy?
  • What would break if the team lost access tomorrow?

Admins can edit or remove questions and choose who gets the survey, when, and where. Answers show up live and can be exported to a spreadsheet. Anthropic treats responses as customer data.

3. Pooled group budgets: one budget per team

Instead of only setting limits per person, admins can now give a group one shared monthly budget. Each request counts against both the group budget and the person’s own limit, and a user stops at whichever runs out first. When someone hits a limit, they can request more from inside Claude, and the request goes to an admin.

During setup, Claude suggests an amount based on the team’s recent usage. Billing admins get email alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100% of the budget.

Availability

All three features are available now for Claude Enterprise. Availability can vary for organisations with special setups, such as HIPAA configurations or customer-managed encryption keys.

Why it matters

Many companies are past the “let’s try AI” stage and now need to justify the spend. Smart reports show where the value is, surveys add the human side, and pooled budgets make costs easier to control without blocking heavy users.
